Kickstarter Explained
Welcome! You will be following my preparations to participate as a Canadian multimedia visual artist in an international residency aboard a tall ship for 2 1/2 weeks in Svalbard Archipelago Norway, just 200 miles from the North Pole.
I\’m excited and feeling good about my Kickstarter video and webpage, where visitors can pledge $10 – $1000 with corresponding Thank You Gifts created out of the project being funded. This is an all-or-nothing campaign with a goal of $7500 by March 31st. I like that my supporters, or backers, in Kickstart language, are reassured their pledge will go to the project they are funding when and if the goal is met. Also, I like that backers will receive something tangible resulting from the project they support.
After only 4 days, 12 Backers have pledged $1250! This is a very good indication I\’m told we will reach our goal. Thank you to my Backers with pledges ranging from $10 – $1000.
